I know this wont be one of the "greatest hits" threads, but would love to get some responses :)

I am an avid reader on inspirational sporting books and would love to get a couple titles that I could indulge in... so please, if by anychance you share the interest, pls post some great reads :) most appreciated, cheers.

Chariots of Fire (Liddell's strategy to win the 800m was to run the first 400m as fast as he can and then, God willing, to run the second 400m even faster).

Sea Biscuit (a horse from humble beginnings, taking on and beating the Triple Crown winner in the match race of the century)

Horses of War (the quest to save two Epsom Derby winners from the Russian Revolution)
"Lot 226, 2016 NYS, Diamondveld, R1.5m"

Gambling by Mike Atherton ,came out some 10 years ago,not too bad.

Talks about a horse called Deep Impact, went off at 1/10 ,this at Longchamp backed by 10000 Japs, lost and a 24/1 shot won it.
