The Miller rout started in the second race on the programme as jockey Marco van Rensburg drove home 33-1 shot Insomiac, beating 16-10 favourite Seraphic by three lengths in the Maiden Plate for fillies and mares.
Collen Storey was aboard Kirov’s Tune (6-1) as he dominated Race 4, putting 3.50 lengths between himself and second-placed Global Pursuit. Favourite Space Warrior was unplaced.
It was Van Rensburg’s turn again in the fifth, on Easy Peasy – who lived up to the name by winning unextended at 4-1.
Storey was back on duty in the sixth, flying up on Honest Prince to nab frontrunner Lord Laika who looked like he’d stolen a march.
Then it was Van Rensburg again – on Asian Star in Race 7. The 11-1 chance had too many guns for the MR 62 field. Irish Vagabond was second at 20-1 and favourite Secret Delight was unplaced.
Fidelio (7-1) and rider Calvin Habib wrapped up a memorable day for the affable Miller.
