Dave's Blog Thursday 22 February 2024
Hi all as we hit another weekend and I'm sure we all need a few winners to get out of trouble.
I had planned to send this in the morning but I have a busy Friday morning with dropping kids off and then going to see a caravan and camping expo.
I did fancy Scotland last weekend until I tried to place a bet and discovered the game is actually this Saturday so it's not too late to get out of trouble.
I will take the half-time/full-time option.
Rachel Venniker rides in Saudi Arabia on Friday and I am sure we all wish her everything of the best against some world-class jocks, not sure if she will get her 1.5 k allowance from Sophie and Ryan?
No idea of the prices but Bob found me the fields. Link below

4RACING will be showing what they can on a busy TV schedule.
Meydan is also on the box and SAPPHIRE SEAS for Buick just has to beat the Appleby stable companion English Rose.
The Cape Derby also takes place over 2000 Mt but I am a bit of a traditionalist and I prefer a mile and a half for a Derby or Oaks.
The lads up North could have been GREEN WITH ENVY after the Cape season performance but with the Guineas and the Classics in addition the Horse Chestnut fields, they can hold their heads up high.
I should also give mention to 4RACING, they are doing well under difficult circumstances with losing top staff as well as health problems with senior staff.
We are probably a week early to get out of trouble on a few good punts.
The Classics look set to go to Gimme A Nother and Sandringham Summit but the Horse Chestnut is one of the best, competitive fields I have seen in a while.
Princess Calla and Melech would be my selected preference but it's rather open.
Cheltenham is another week closer and the hotties 🔥 still look hard to beat.
There is also a few that will make or break the punter vs bookie exchange of fortune.
The big 5 this year will be: CONSTITUTION HILL, LOSSIEMOUTH, EL FABIOLO, SIR GINO, and GALOPIN DES CHAMPS.
I remember when Annie Power fell at the last with Ruby many lengths clear to break the punter's hearts, especially Scotia's.
I'm keeping away from political issues and the war atrocities that are still giving me troubled nights.
Other events
Football
The Premier is getting interesting: Man City are now money against with pressure from Liverpool and the Gunners are ready for any slips.
Racing overseas: Kempton Park is the best
Remember "you are a short time living and a long time dead " so have a good weekend.
My song choice is from a very talented artist.
Good Punting 👍
