The only way I eventually showed any consistent profits, was by patiently waiting for matches where sides with "almost no chance" get their head in fronts "in running" in matches ,and then lay them at "shorter than they should" odds and wait for the equaliser/s and trade out.
Obviously not every result will go your way, but laying at undervalue odds has shown long term, modest, profits

(BTW don't try it with SA bookmakers cos the only way to "lay" is to back the win/draw of the "down side" but local prices don't even make that a proposition!- you need the exchanges)

I was hoping my bit of analysis would stimulate a lot of contributions relating to soccer systems /betting methods etc.
How many punters do we have that really use "probabilities" to structure bets ?
Less than I thought I guess!

A prime example is in ladies tennis to wait and take a bet "in running" but as you said the SA bookmakers odds are smaller than their overseas counterparts and when you try to place a bet the market is closed most of the time.

Naresh ,I found one of the most frustrating activities is trying to use local sites "in running" betting.......I'm afraid it is not automated enough and in turn not manned enough ,so betting tends to be suspended the majority of the time.........when someone gets it right they should clean up!

to Rob ,or anyone else on this site, would u take take 1/20 for a goal to be scored in a game by either side....find 5 matches in a weekend from the 10 000 odd games being played around the world in every division..and stick to the leagues that have a high scoring ratio...like the german oberliga divisions or the spanish leagues and collect 5k..are there any such players out there

There is a very good web site called tablesleague.com that shows full football stats for most things that anybody could think of. It also shows percentage possibilities for every fixture and importantly full home and away tables.

The percentages do need to be checked because I have noticed that they go off past performance. As an example last weekend the Chelsea City percentages did not take into account the fact that Diego Costa and Fabragas were both out.

RG,it would depend on the statistical likelyhood of a goalless draw !.............I bet the bookmakers have still not put the odds anywhere near our favour............the problem with short odds ,if it goes against you a couple of times ,you are "behind the black ball" for ages
