The Jooste discard, EIGHT STREET, was purchased by Gee Racing at yesterday's tried stock sale. Can anyone give me any info on Gee Racing and who trains for them.

Gee Racing is Alyson Wright, who trains in Durban. Her husband, ex jockey Kevin Wright, works with her in the yard.

Thanks Magiclips. At least he stays in Sth Africa. It was quite a price to pay for him at R340,000 for a tried 5YO. He originally cost $A40,000 at the MM sale & I know that converts to about R240,000, so I hope he still has a future.

You're safe with me, Aussie Breeder. I'd rather read the Istanbul telephone directory than watch rugby. Lol.

Interesting to see that Grant Maroun is having a "horses in training" sale at the beginning of August. Is he closing up shop? It seems like all his horses (or most of them) will come under the hammer, including Polar Moon!

Anybody have any details?

Wow, they are dropping like flies....
Does anybody have any ideas what needs to happen for small and large trainers to co-exist and be relatively prosperous?

Charles Laird's email to me stated Eight Street was sold to Mauritius. Does Alyson Wright send horses there or buy for clients in Mauritius?

The Wrights have sold quite a lot of their horses to Mauritius down the years, so it is possible. I'm not sure that the tight track there is the right place for a horse who starts slowly and can take his time to get going, but good luck to the new connections.
