OK... My two cents... There should be an award of some kind for a groom. Perhaps for the Horse Of The Year, or on a points system of turn out of horses on raceday, or perhaps a team award of recognition for all the grooms of a specific trainer? It seems like the fat cats pat themselves on the back often enough, and the bottom rung people get forgotten... The grooms only get a glass beermug and a couple of rand for a big win... trust me, these guys can make or quite literally, break a horse. Just a thought...

Thanks for the good wishes.

Truly a highlight of our lives. I consider the enormous number of things that had to go right to just nick it from all those equally worthy horses to the left and right.

I think it's a bit like an impossible hole-in-one, even though it's what you're aiming at every time - you know it's not really in your hands... and even when you get it 100% right you also know that immediately afterwards that the odds are reset to 0% once again.

We are so, so proud of Irish Flame...it makes up for everything.

All well, but what about international achievements for trainer/s and jockey/s?
