the objection was absolutely right. the second horse was intereferred even twice and was actually startin to fly.
i would have decided him to win, even i betted the first.
they would better have not inteerviewed the objection st., he didn't seem to confident

I see that Pokerface has been backed after being 19 lgths behind in its last run.The last time it finished 19 lengths back,it was backed next time out and won.
If it wins today,I wonder if that might be considered "inconsistent" by the regulators?

No chance Saldiani. There was definitely interference. But way too late to affect the result. Yep, runner up was flying but would never have caught winner.
With regards to interviewing the stipe, they do it often nowadays. Its all about openness as to how they reached their decision.
He was nervous, me thinks it was his first time on tv.

Imo (and yes talking from my pocket) the objection should definitely have been upheld; the winner takes up the running of the 2nd horse 100m from home; the 2nd horse then comes around the winner only to be almost pushed off his feet 50m from home; the explanation that the 2nd horse would not have beaten the winner is absolute hogwash - I wonder if they even noticed the winner taking up the 2nd horse's running. It was one of the worst objection decisions in a long time - just my opinion :X

50m from home? More like 5m from home.

the rule is, as far as i know, that if you CAN NOT exclude that the inteferred second horse would have won, than they have to put it on the first place. i am not sure, if they could exclude this. i watched the replay, the interference was 10-15 metres away, i think enough to catch extremist by a nose.
what concerns the first interferrence, i am not sure, if extremist caused this.

it was a very difficult decision.

If the bump the 2nd horse received in the last 50 metres were the only incident, I would agree that the 2nd horse could never beat the winner and the result should stand; BUT,the winner took up the 2nd horse's running 100m out, which effectively cost the 2nd horse the race imo.
Anyway, that's racing, as they say.

What's happening at the Vaal today? R4 null & void. R 3, Stewards like Irish rugby refs. Well, at least getting my money back (Milesandmore) and trebble my PA!
