@radz:

making note of all this.

When I met with the Chairman of the FS Gambling Board, they were still fresh and knew very little about the game. My friend re-located from Gauteng to FS as the CEO...must check if he's still around!

If it belongs to Graeme Hawkins that would be very wrong.

Mr Hawaii a diplomatic approach, without being vindictive would be the way to go about solving our racing crisis. Its obvious that all the attacks on personnel are not going to enhance anything.I believe the way to handle this situation is to communicate with the people in power. At this stage we are all negative because we are all having a dig,and we are getting no response.I ask the question, who do you think the RA would answer to.Reid,Pretorius or Scott.Say no more,we all know the answer.I believe that the day is coming and the dynamic Scotia, will be the key to the negotiations, because his got the correct approach.Watch this space.

Zoro the personalities involved all have racing at heart I believe - who talks to the RA/Phumelela is of little concern to me - the main focus should be on presenting a working document that can form a new more representative racing authority - one that includes not EXCLUDES - THE PUNTER - he that funds this enterprise. An open approach needs to be forthcoming from the operators - if this is not forthcoming then nothing will be solved

Mr.Hawaii...you sound like the perfect mediator, spokesperson with lots of experience under the belt...the point is it's time we all stop nagging on the forums and physically start doing something...let's face it, no one at the RA, Phumelela or NHRA is reading any of this. Yeah, maybe an odd employer here and there but although all seems hunky dory and we blow some steam by posting our concerns here we are forgetting that these are actual obstacles that we need to bridge.

Therefore i say we need to take a stand and petition and i agree fully we need to get punters involved from the word go...as they actually fund prize money for us to race. That's why they need transparency from us owners and we need to be transparent so they can punt. No punters no prize money, no owners to buy horses no horses to punt. PUNTERS are what makes the industry tick.

I personally don't care who has vendettas against who but fully agree that RACING must come first and we need to start progressing. The only thing that hasn't progressed since 1994 is horse racing...same old shyte different day. Punters should should vote for racing officials just as the public vote for presidents etc. Punters should be made more aware of these internal political situations. This thing that stipes are owners and their direct kin is the starters cousin and his niece an RA executive scenario is utter bull.Yes, we do need experienced people in high places but not ones that manipulate the system...

If i had the cash flow, believe me, i would really stir quite a few hornets nests but i don't, and if you want to be a force i agree fully with Mr. Hawaii - we need the punter on our side and we need for them to understand the situations going on in the inner circles of racing...

Therefore i feel put the past aside, get an organisation going, think with our main head and for the glory of the Sport of Kings and not for money or enrichment - chuck the ones out that think that way...all i want is a place in the sun with a workable racing system and enjoy leading in a winner and a happy punter that made a few bob...

Hibs...guys like Zoro, Oscar, Mr. Hawaii, yourself, Dave, Greg, Tommy, Magic and others not mentioned have all the experience in the world to get something going...

Even if we like it or not and there are issues between ABC, SFRW and Racingweb you have to agree they have members with brilliant ideas too. Let's face it Charl is certainly stirring and asking the right questions on his web page and for the good of racing. What is this forum about: FOR THE GOOD OF RACING, posting our concerns. I'm not here to rattle closets and let skeletons roll out, it's not my business what the internal issues are...don't forget, i was taken apart by other forums as they thought i was Lex who stood up for ABC and i was put in the middle and i wish one day LEX can actually confirm that we're not the same person...issues like this break good spirits and serves for doubt!

Back to the point ACTION needs to be taken - forces needs to be joint and believe me i am a DO it guy not a talker. I am willing to lose my colours or be banned if at least the next generation can call it THE SPORT OF KINGS!

I am a concerned small owner with rights and we need a representative from each forum to petition, overload the operators with complaint mails etc, even go higher and over their heads cause these operators must obviously report to government. Somewhere sometime someone is willing to take action and listen to our woes!

If i may add...i give credit where it is due...

The Eastern Cape chapter of the RA is absolutely brilliant...my monies worth...we actually get invites for RA members cocktail evenings, photos after a win, newsletters, courtesy e-mails etc.

That can't be said for the RA elsewhere, at Turffontein one day i walked into the upper deck, RA lounge i presume, with 10 new people [first time race goers], not too long ago, we were all casually dressed [no jeans, no tekkies etc] and one person had shoes that looked like tekkies but wasn't. I felt so embarrassed cause we were shown the door. And these 10 people? Guys and gals that would've dropped R10k on the pools for the day - back to the casino - interest for racing lost.

Great RA member i am. I'm honest i'm only a member of the RA cause of the service i get from the Eastern Cape chapter. Time PE racing breaks free and go alone...

Hibs...I love ABC...will always be ABC...love the people and will always post here...i do read other forums as it's interesting, Racingweb is the media platform for concerns but ABC is my home and i respect other forums and old internal fights is not my concern...the future of racing is...
