Jesus H. Christ on a freaking pogo stick, give Nico a break!

Even if he does make the occasional cock up, he is just getting back his health and deserves some slack.

Hope none of you wise asses never wind up in his position and need a break.

The reason for this thread is that recently we are way past the "occassional cock-up" stage, but Barry you are right....if ill health prevents competent performance of the task,it is worthy of a break...........it's called SICK LEAVE

Nico always has and always will be a poor commentator. Just my opinion regardless of whether he is sick or not.

He constantly uses jockeys surnames in a finish instead of the actual horses names. Thats poor.

Barry are you aware of Nico's condition ???? He shouldn't be commentating !!!! Try calling to listen in on one of his commentaries before you post .

Serious topic here.
I'm certain we all sympathise with this commentators ill health.
From a punting prosepctive i can tolerate his calling(clear toned voice ,speed he calls at),its the descriptions at the finish which is most crucial, determining punters winning/losing a bet. Most times i whish i had C Basel or G Hawkins rounding off.
Sometimes the cameraman also loses focus, zooming in on a horse, ignoring the rest of field.
Nico is far better than this guy from KZN that only calls 1 horse home...400m to finish!
So,Nico,if u read this...tweak yr race finishes.

I am aware of Nico's short commings, but he has not always been inaccurate. Cut the man some slack. Give him a chance to rebound.

Where i sSmiley Moosa at least when he calls them wrong its still fun listening to his commentary another of Graham Hawkins skeletons ????Nico is making a lot of bad calls and again I dont think he was ever a good commentator and to Barry Irwin we ar e in a profesional game if a doctor make a mistake you can die if a attorney make a misyake you go to jail if a driver make a mistake potentially there will be a accident when a racecaller get it wrong ????it shows the state of unprofesionality in horseracing now that Robert is also gone we sit with a lot of clueless fat cats that are only interested in the Phumelela share price -wake up the end is near owners and punters are leaving the game for better and more rewarding entertainment

Nico is ok. the worsest is allan schoeman shouting th emicrophone to death.
anyway, your commentators are far better than any commentators in germany, france and even many in england. so, don't complain!!!!!

Bignic, I cannot possibly think of any lasting harm even the worst race call on earth would do to damage the sport. As long as payoffs are made based on the order of finish, what can the damage possibly be? Lighten up and give the fellow some consideration.

He is flying around the country watching his horses run so he is hardly dysfunctional..............Did not think that was relevant, but if you insist.................
The next time you get shocking service, remember to call for a medical before laying a complaint.
We want an accurate commentary FFS so find someone healthy enough to give us one,or is that unreasonable?
