...because the tote(substitute illegal cigarettes/DVD's/CD's) keeps racing alive and if you don't play on the tote the horses will starve and you and you alone will be guilty of killing those poor horse and putting 1000's of people out of jobs - Shame on you and me Rob for being so selfish as to want to know how much our wager will return after the final bets are struck!!:?

Thats damn interesting.So we can co-mingle at fractions of a pound into the UK,but into the states our units increase to R8 (or a dollar) ??
I use Betfair for the odd UK bet I have ,anyway.

I dont know how Co mingling works but the saffa tote punter got 6,1/1 on the horse and so did the UK tote punter. So if P is ripping off local punters then they ripping off the UK tote punter aswell. I to would have rather taken the 9/1 on betfair

What a croc of shit. i have 800 left in the telly bet account normally for when i am to drunk to fin the phone to call in a bet.

I think the new Consumer Protection Act may assist punters to regulate this if used properly. That is if it is ever promalgated, excuse my spelling its late.

@pirates:

'until a punters association is formed and recognized by pkum and gold circle racing in this country will continue its downward spiral..they seemed threatened by it but dont realise it will be in their best interests '

A punters' association does not need be recognised by P or GC. If it's set up with at least 500 members (voluntary or paying), that's enough to have the Gambling Board, Ministers, Parliamentary Committees, Consumer Council, Competitions Board, etc for acceptance and recognition.

The association thereafter has to deal directly with the relevant bodies; P & GC can come to the party once it's shutters down for them!

To kick off, get to your nearest betting outlet, explain to the punters, and have them sign support / membership to a body to be formed / constituted to promote / protect / safeguard their interests. The signatories authorise the co-ordinator (eg Pirates or Umlilo) to either act directly / through or with any other local / regional / national body with similar aims and concerns.

The sheet with the names, tel nos and name of outlet, will not be released /divulged except if challenged (which is highly unlikely if the representative is a person of integrity / good standing) can thereafter be faxed through to me.

Once that's done, the representatives can appoint 3-4 persons to represent them by collating all the issues and taking them up with whomsoever by pressing the right buttons.

I previously called for support of a punters' association.... Pirates is the only person that I recall having ventured his support.
