Magic there was money for 5 horses in the race and they all ran some sort of race,the second ran green and attracted no money,and the Johnston horses always carry stable money.More too come from the second and one for the note books

Fair enough, Hib. I just get the feeling that Southwell is an easy course for horses to get bogged down on when they race there for the first time, whether they are on debut or have run elsewhere. Maybe it's just an illusion, but if there is one track in the UK where I would look for proven course form if I were punting then Southwell (and maybe the Chester bull ring) would be it. It is the only one of its kind in the UK, after all.
