I agree with Pirates. How on earth can you compare times from Kenilworth with a headwind to times from another province? Absolutely meaningless.

I'm also talking about the use of raw winning times - I virtually never look at them, except on occasion for sprint races run on the same day under conditions that I remember to be identical. (i.e. it didn't rain between one race and the other, or the dind didn't come up, etc.) I have my reservations about how well Trinity House will eventually train on, so trying to get black type into her quickly could be a very shrewd move. Tory has of course done nothing wrong either, but the Trinioty House formlines are strong and the form of her maiden win is probably the best of any maiden 2yo race run at the Cape so far this season.

Magic - I guess there is never wind in PE? Headwind? Take a look at last race won by Tory - giving the field 3 kg's and a very strong headwind blowing over 30/40 km.

Why not? I don't think they are nearly as impossible to tip, at least early in the season, as you think.

You right Gregbucks - tipping a 2yo is very risky!

It's still a quicker track than Kenilworth.

Magic - might be but home advantage and no travelling must be in Tory's favour. She should be in first 3 at least - depending which Cape horses go for this race.

I've said it before, I've known some very successful punters who made a good deal of money studying 2yo form (especially collateral form) and left the clever old geldings running in handicaps to other people to plunge on. To each his own, I guess, but if I was a punter I would focus big time on 2yos especially in the first to middle part of the 2yo season. Things do start to perhaps get more tricky as more and more of the later maturing types begin to appear later in the season.

True. But on exposed form Trinity House is the best 2yo filly in the Cape and possibly even in the country right now, although I seriously doubt that it will stay that way. Win draw or lose, I think it would be very prudent of them to try and get black type into Trinity House asap, because it will get harder for her as the season advances.
