Agree Tommy, 289 days is quite a rest, amazing how quickly opinions change... especiall when WE was favo backed from 14/10 into 8/10 running vs Romantic moon drifting 12/10 to 22/10 last over a distance not suited being VAR 1000 is about as much they get and since it was a flat run 2nd RR ... I agree with you do not keep out the CD record holder WE....If VR is ready I would not want to seperate them, I would even through in Fairytale story as well where Hatt can make 4 lenghts difference...

val de ra will beat rm even if 80 percent fit but wishful eye could beat them both if she brings her a game to the track...rm has beaten silent nights and jenna the pink in her last 2 runs and im sure that val de ra beats her stable mate silent nights a furlong back home...

Al / Tommy

Interesting comments on VDR / WE and RM.

RM does not possess a strong kick but rather a good strong gallop to the line. This race is a 1000m which should favour VDR and WE.
Having said, I do not think that the softer conditions ( if the going is soft) would be to the liking of the two speedsters. This is where RM comes in. She will relish the going.
If this was a 1200m race I have no doubt that RM would be the winner.
In my opinion I would include all 3 in the P6. It is a catch 22.

Val De Ra: Class act, probably best over 1000m, but comes off a long break and (let's be honest) the Vars don't always train on.
Romantic Moon: Fighting fit, may prefer a bit further (going not soft at this stage but possibility of rain/headwind later) and seems to get better all the time.
Wishful Eye: Very fast, clearly has buckets of talent but seems temperamental and was beaten far too early in that last race for comfort.

Romantic Moon seems to be the one coming here with the least to prove at present, but any one of three can win. I went with Val De Ra because she has the proven class and - whatever excuses that may apply to the other two - she is the only one who didn't get thumped out of the money when she tried her luck in Feature races previously.

Greg -
Thats a minefield.
I have spoken to Bart yesterday and he is fairly confident with Travel Light.

And obviously Duncan's conservative eachway on Carina.
