Sylvanette seems a different animal with blinkers - those that still use the tote might find some place value there but early days yet

What's the best advice you would offer to a "new" horse racing punter?
Quartets are the best value.....look at the 10th race Vaal dividend.......

East...Hope you stuck to your guns and your rules and did not listen to mate's call...if the rules does not support it...it is just another "would love for him to win" kind of comment...

Today was the first day I paid attention to the vaal and I must say it felt like being in a canoe being struck by a tsunami. It was a violent experience. A place where logic is ridiculed and laughed on. A most sobering run for my money which alas I don't have anymore. I will live to punt another day but will only invest in a Pa or jkpt for the vaal next time. Had I been as drunk as a skunk I'm sure I would have fared much better.

I also got slaughtered today !!!!
My best bet on the card was Valloire in the 9nth .
11/1 was on offer yesterday on interbet and 8 & 9 /1 at race time .
The horse won from pillar to post last time .
I was listening over the phone , did not hear it mentioned once !!!
seems was no good today !!

Ant, I have learned the VERY hard way that there is a HUGE difference between horses who show pace over 1200m and a good sprinting horse over 1000m.
Not that I'm saying he wasn't no good today but the form doesn't always translate.
Exactly the same as a horse who sprints 1000m cannot always extend to 1200m?

Tommy you make a good point i think i cockd it up by assuming he could do it over 1000m .
What pushed me in my decision was the race last time was very fast and he had a claimer on his back today .
Still i think you right Tommy !
Double figure price next time?

If he runs in an MR 90 over 1200m with a claimer on board he must be a huge runner....no double digit odds I'm afraid
