Nice to have some sand racing on a Friday - interesting card imo where quite a few of the progeny of Spectrum will be running - I'd inlcude most of them in exotics; other thoughts:
R1: ?
R2: Savona the first Spectrum on the card - very short but should prove hard to beat
R3: Imami ran a fair race in open company last time - but the 1800 on the sand may prove just a touch too far, To Remember should give Spectrum a quick double
R4: Milkwood Manor the obvious one, but jockey arrangements suggest possible improvement from Winter Union, who has been backed a few times before and tries the sand and blinkers today and Boogy Boy ran a nice race last time and should improve more over this trip - I think the winner will come from one of these
R5: Competitive handicap - Wood Be loves this trip and could be the right one - Blue Spirit holds Dallas Dancer and is my second choice - if there is an upset it could come from Jazzy Drum who tries the sand for the first time with Lerena riding - also Siber Centenary beat Dallas Dancer by almost 8 lenghts giving weight away and receives 3 kg's from DD today, so could surprise although he may still need this run
R6: Subtle Beauty is best in here in this graduation plate so needs to be inlcude for places, but I think Golden Mountain is still underrated and should take a power of beating imo - but it makes sense to also include the 2 daughters of Spectrum from the Stenger stable in exotics (P6 and JP)
R7: Difficult race imo - Pero Valiente tries the sand so hard to know if he will be as effective as on turf; Do it my Way likes the sand, but seems moderate - consider Calanish who has done well here with van Rensburg up, and for a complete lunatic selection have a look at Colour Supplement (yes he is a son of Spectrum) who has his first try on the sand
R8: Plenty with chances including Exhiliration, Rockingandrolling and Prime Mover - I am leaning towards another son of Spectrum (Royal Patrol) for some value in his sand debut
R9: We have Codega trying the sand - hoping for improvement this surface as her daddy Lundy's Liability won the Derby on the Dubai dirt and her damsire Rich Man's Gold's progeny have also done well on the sand; also she is a one paced filly who may be suited by the sand. That being said, one can't be too optimistic about her chances. Most of the othere rate some sort of chance and I think the fact that 2cents included 8 horses in his PA says it all
Play well
