Greg, hope we don't have to discuss Galileo's Destiny anymore?? Super Storm will beat him wherever they run anytime
I know there was an early July thread somewhere where I mentioned Super storm as being the value of the race.
Dancewiththedevil is a fantastic filly. What a win today. She is an obvious entrant now for that rich Queens Plate in Jan if it ever happens???
Good days racing. My July book is almost made with a nice treble into PJ to place and another even bigger one into PJ to win!!!
(thanks to Bulsara and Super Storm today!)
I find this years July pretty hard to figure out. Igugu must have a chance but as I mentioned before she is carrying a lot of pudding for a 3 year old FILLY. Bravura seems to be coming back to his best.
PM = no thank you. not that distance.
Super Storm = place chance for sure!!!
PJ = good prep, should have an E/W chance.
3 year old colts. = They have a shout with The Apache and Run for it being best? Perhaps English Garden too?
I hope and wish that there will be no more talk of Perana being a possible July winner (or even runner?!??!?!?!) no offense to the guys who like him but he simply is NOT good enough and his Victory Moon win will always go down as some kind of racing fluke.......
Salut!!!

Third Grade 1 win for Dancewiththedevil
By michael clower
Report: South Africa, Monday
Clairwood: Rising Sun Gold Challenge (Grade 1) 1m, turf, 3yo+
Dancewiththedevil (St John Gray/Gavin Lerena) won her third Grade 1 over 1m inside 12 weeks when coming from last to first in the final two furlongs to beat Bravura by a head.
The four-year-old was taken out of the Vodacom Durban July at last week's forfeit stage but her owner-breeder-trainer St John Gray had no regrets.
He said: "I know some people are a bit disappointed but it was quite clear from her last run over the tough 2,000 metres at Turffontein that she doesn't have the same finish over the longer stretch so we will keep her to a mile. Hopefully next year she will see out the 2,000 metres."
Gavin Lerena, explaining his exaggerated waiting tactics - he was 14 lengths off the pace turning for home - said: "Mr Gray told me that you can't bustle heralong.
"You've just got to let her do what she wants, and I was three lengths behind the second-last horse. But she is a phenomenal filly - every time I asked her for an effort she gave it to me."
Gray added: "The only thing worrying me was that it looked a moderate pace - but clearly it wasn't."
Bravura was the only one of the leading Durban July candidates to boost his cause.
Past Master, who started5-2 favourite here, was in trouble turning for home and finished ninth, over nine lengths behind the winner. Big City Life fared even worse, finishing last.
