Thank you for the welcome,...I should add, as with everything gambling related, it only works if you find the winner!B)

Gents

I had to comment on Ron's input.

Ron's comments make absolute sense. I have also mentioned before in previous threads that one needs patience and discipline. I know that there are punters that have different punting strategies.
My strategy is that I am always looking for value and to make a profit over a one month period. In this regard, Loopy is the only other person on ABC, that I am aware of, who has a similar punting strategy .

I like Ron's comparison with regards to "stocks and shares" because whenever I am asked by someone as to what I do for a living, My answer is always that I dabble in the stock market. I am semi- retired and a full-time punter ( I don't regard myself as a pro-punter).

Going back to the original question , Yes I also dutch. This is where "Interbet" is useful. They have a profit/loss column and this enables you to check at a glance if you are in a profit or loss situation when dutching.

Ron,I am a handicap nut and as a result I started a thread about a week ago pointing out that form in condition races in the UK seems to not follow the BHA ratings nearly as much as I would expect. Is that because the amount of courses makes the variables that much more and therefore harder to assess comparative ratings.
I can understand it in claimers and sellers because it tends to be a weaker class of horse and some of the ratings are historic/outdated.
My comments refer particularly to these festival meetings where it is particularly noticeable.
Would welcome your comments as a handicapper please,as I also assume it is only worth doing all the work you do because you frequently have different ability ratings to the official ones?

East I find your comments strange, firstly what are you saying, you and Loops are the only ones that make a profit over a month and secondly you have NEVER mentioned your interest in DUTCHING on ABC in all the years you've posted...??

Putting it bluntly there is a lot of bullshit talk going on these threads of late...

Greg

As far as I am aware, this is the first time the question of dutching was mentioned.

From the peanut gallery i.e. throwing peanuts to the monkeys.

To me it is difficult enough to pick one horse in a race to win not to mention two because then one could make a case for three or four or more. I then would take my two top fancies and invest in Swingers.

Unlucky_Dube, I have a bet calculator on excel I wrote myself. Similar to the one that hibernia posted from oddschecker, but mine is different in the sense that you can input the profit you want, the tax% deducted(thats for hollywood 6%, interbet I think 9.5% or sportsbetting 0%). My calculator will then tell you how much to bet on each horse or team and if you select say 3 horses it will see it as 1 horse and give you the odds of that " 1 horse" so that you know what odds you are looking at putting all 3 horses together. Send me your email so that I can send to you, maybe you can use it.
