Ebony Flyer is a second rate horse, according to the majority of those informed denizens of these boards, so any information about her would be without interest in the overall scheme of things.

My grandson posted a nonsensical message on Facebook (something similar to your post Barry), I told him it was childish and he agreed....from the mouth of babes

I don't know what all the fuse is about, we have 2 brilliant fillies in SA that would probably hold there own any where in the world?

Are you fishing for contradiction, Barry, or are you just being obtuse.

Singing the praises of Igugu does not detract from Ebony Flyer. While the fillies Igugu raced against needed to rest after the Cape season, Igugu went on to the Triple, had a breather, won another Grp 1 in prep for the July, and then thumped the lot in the July. You can't get the needle because De Kock cracks on.

Don't you think that rests after the 3yo campaign makes more sense that mid 3yo year? Pierre Jordaan is possibly another example of a mid 3yo rest that turns into a year and then you are on the back foot in terms of preparation and progress with the competition who have moved on.

Give Barry Irwin a break. He's raced some of the best horses in the world, but that doesn't mean that he won't carry some nerves into Ebony Flyer's return on Saturday. This filly has a special place in his heart. I would be far more cagey than he is now.
