One of many. For some reason, and not because I profited from the race, another that always comes to mind when we have this discussion about Striker is the ride he gave Surfin' USA to win the Algoa Cup a couple of seasons ago. The horse has never really stayed 2000m and is much better over 1800m IMO, but Piere somehow kept him together in front. It was poetry in motion.

I read some where that he doesn't ride work, is that true?

Magic, I did not watch that race, but have heard loads about it.

Striker for me is the best 80% of the winners I have had are ridden by the top jockeys because they know the bussiness and how to RIDE and place a horse. 100% FACT

Striker and the Guntha-man were my handicaps, they came in unplaced when the horse was favorite. I got better rides from Khumalo and even Lisa Prestwood, than first named two.

If racing is his second job then he must be almost a good a golfer as Tiger Woods in his heyday.

Pierres column in the citizen on saturdays is very good,maybe hollywood can get a top jock to preview kzn racing over the weekend? Any chance of this happening lips ?
