The Devines were lucky to have such a wonderful horse, but he was also lucky to have such wonderful owners.

It is sad, but he's left behind an incredible legacy - memories of him on the track, legions of fans, generations of progeny with several superstars among them and a fantastic story. And perhaps his misfortune left the greatest legacy of all. Not only was he the catalyst for the surgery to be arranged and that wonderful sling to be imported, but in pioneering all that in South Africa, he's allowed our local vets to gain valuable experience, expertise and equipment that can now be made available to the entire equine community and hopefully save a lot of lives in the future.
Amazing to think one horse did all that !
He really was a legend.
