I have to say when Neil Pretorious read the statement out of Computaform,I had to go and read it to see if I had heard right...sure enough..."This has to be one of the strongest 3yr old fields to face the starter,EVER."
Well maybe it is my turn to have egg on my face but I think there at least a half a dozen better 3 yr olds in the country,right now(one running in the next at Kenilworth maybe)
My forecast:as long as AHS movement doesn't prevent proper competition none of todays Selangor horses will win a group 1 as a 3 yr old..The exception maybe Gimme the green light......but over a sprint!
I await the egg.....lol

Was at the course on Saturday and initially had the conclusion as Rob Faux until I looked at the winning time. 96.65 for Variety Club carrying 58kg into a head wind from a bad draw. The course record is held by Counter Action at 96.2 carrying 57kg. Draw your own conclusion. I think the front 2 are very special. Just remains to be seen how good Divine Jet is in comparison.

Shadley,in 40+ years of racing,I have learnt that the one certainty is that the game will always make a mockery of forecasts.....my comment has almost guaranteed that a group1 comes out of that field......lol.
Seriously though,that is a remarkable time and maybe that form will work out well!
I detected that Ramsden was a bit surprised as to the achievements of Variety Club though......" not the type we would normally buy"

the line horse in comparing is gimmethe green light who has raced against most if not all of the top 3yos..draw yr own conclusions

Keeping in mind that GTGL raced at Greyville from bad draws. This time had an excellent draw and receiving weight.

Variety club is a top horse..GMTGL will start winninh again, very,very soon
