i agree the research is poor and very monotonous....no variety...winning ways...3 to follow...blast from the past...etc..etc...its so stereo typed

To be fair ito the Blasts from the Pasts - I have seen plenty of 'older' races shown - hard to please everyone I suppose. Regarding the 'musical interlude' - I watched while Mr Sutherland was bemoaning the fact that he tried to find the pot at the end of the rainbow by investing in stallions - and I can sympathize with him on that - switched off when they started discussing his 'new venture' :S

Please tell me when you saw older races from the 70/80's i have never seen that on WW..its always races from Scottsville or Clairwood from about 2 years ago..its not hard to please everyone..if someone researched the show properly and made the blast from the pasts relevant and in relation to what races are coming up it would make a major difference..

Dalakhani, I don't want to argue with you and I am definitely not defending WW - imo they certainly should be looking to up their game -but I have seen the older races (especially the July's and Met's) from years ago - maybe WW can supply you with the details.
And I think it IS hard to please everyone - you will always have someone complaining about something :

Fair enough i am not trying to argue either, just stating my opinion,my view is that its poorly researched thats all and needs more valid racing content in the programme, look how interesting the David Payne/ Felix Coetzee/ Robbie Fradd inserts.. because it was Racing that was discussed, not ken Rutherfords career or in the case of last night musicals..
I agree Frodo it is hard to please everyone, but just with a bit more effort from the ww production team it could be whole lot more pleasing and interesting to more people than it is now, hence the thread.

I must also add the show is very dull to be fair. I agree with you Dalakani on their blast from the past i've had that question for a while actually. the banner used fro recent races looks like a blast from the past..lol. then how come their 3 to follow always happen to be 2nd placed horses? can't you follow a winner or an unplaced horse or a horse than ran in a minor meeting?

I can picture Sutherland running through the meadows with the ''Sound of Music'' in the background....:
