Sorry Andy,in all the slinging off we forgot your original sensible question.....I hope my original post at least explained why a small tattersalls in Shelly Beach cannot give the same value,particularly if the bet is called quite late.

Being serious now,i do think you guys are having it hard with your bookies.You pay 6% tax and UK prices on your racing are generally bigger than your own.Yesterday i backed Imperial State at 10/1,it lost but you were 6/1.
Tuesday i backed Craig Eudeys Crystal Bay ew at 50/1 ,you were 25/1 tops.The place betting for fancied runners is ridiculous,i had Marine Sky at 6/4 when you were 1/2...

Dave,there is no doubt that our bookmakers bet to unacceptable %'s and that will only be fixed by exchanges.....ie.no price-fixing.
No sympathy for them on that front.

I have had conflicting inputs but would guess it's far away..........

I think betfair employs a guy called Andrew Riddell,you probably know him from SA. I always thought they got him to start the ball rolling over there.He sometimes appears on ATT.My friend reckons he knows the racing game very well and likes a cream cake

Andrew is a good man and if u can swing an invite to the Betfair box on boxing day it's not to be missed Andrew will look after you, last time I seen him he was half the man he used to be

Home after a brilliant day, want to thank Elliott and Andrew Riddell for the 5 star treatment, also Tony Calvin and nice to meet many others, the owner of Kauto Star and Gary Baitz, his father Cecil based in SA and hope to return a day at the races when we have visitors, one of the points that came to the front was the ROI on owning horses in SA and we should push this to have more SA syndicates with UK owners, I see this as a huge market potential.
