@ scotia, surely its time to take a view on this and not sit on the fence and try to be diplomatic? as much as some firms sponsor links on your site , forumites also contribute and in the case above jack dash has a valid point...

@easy

Both Jack and SB are valued contributors to the site, when this was posted I highlighted to my contact Scott in marketing and asked if he could follow up and get back to Jack, will chase up this morning.

@ Dave,

Your case is slightly different to the average punter, you have a working relationship with them.It makes no sense for them to cut your limit when you are advertising their product. The reality is these blokes are hopeless.I didn't even bother putting money in my account after I got the phone called from Andrew Harrison telling me I can have 10k of a horse in a normal race & 20k in a feature.

I mean really,it is such a waste of time even discussing these palookas.

From the SB website:

"9. Maximum Payout
9.1 The maximum amount that can be won by one customer in one day's betting, regardless of stake, is 1,000,000 ZAR or its equivalent in an accepted currency."

Had a good laugh about this now,it's made my day.

@ Scotia

maybe they both have different values BUT 1 of them is LYING on your site and falsely advertising!

Surely the call is to remove advert until their PR and Rules are sorted?

JAP u may have a point re relationship and are a bigger punter than me, however on individual horses these limits are ok for me. My good MET was due to ATCs

@ Dave,

Nobody is looking to stick these places out,but what is the point of them saying you have a particular limit and then just cutting people. If the limit is 10k of a normal race and 20k of a feature race to a particular customer that is SB prerogative. They are after all running a business. But don't call people, tell them that their limit is X and then just cut it a while later.

How do you expect people not to get upset when they get treated like this?

It only took them 1 year to actually contact me after I complained here about them cutting my limit to R500 of a horse after 1 bet.Shezi didn't even have the decency to answer me when I addressed him.

When AH called me I told him straight I was a pro punter and he said 10k of a normal race and 20k of a feature.I didn't bother putting money into my account because I knew those limits would never last. What others have posted on here is clearly evidence that I was right.

If a foreign company isn't prepared to lay these pathetic sort of limits they should rather skulk back home with their tail between their legs like Victor Chandler did.

Alternatively maybe I should start a bucket shop because there clearly is a market out there that can't get serviced properly.

1500 of a horse. Thats a ridiculous limit to be imposed after they promised everyone 10k of a horse and 20k in handicaps.

Did you conduct yourself badly ? Back first timers after being claimed ? Lie about depositing money ?

Surely Sportingbet can give us a reason why Jack's limit was cut ?

I don't think for many people it is how much you bet, it is how often you win and how and what you bet on. Sportingbet limit me, in SA equilavent, on occasion to R5 on a single bet. They now charge R11 to make a deposit. The other day I couldn't even back a horse because they limited me to R5 but there was a minimum stake required of R6!!!! So I couldn't even have a bet. And I didn't even win, I went in, for me, fairly large on the heavily backed horse a couple of weeks ago that won and then the result got overturned in a review. I had staked just R400 at about 28s and/or 33s. Think it opened at 40s and went as short as 6s. But because of that they limit me, I argue that my small stakes can be but a drop in the ocean but it makes no difference. I follow the market a lot and they don't like that. The bottom line is, don't win and you'll be fine. I think all bookies are pretty much the same, depends on how lucky you are with each. I think its a disgrace to be honest, I understand they are a business and have to have safeguards but limiting someone to a R5 bet... seriously?!?!! :X
