Rowdy,I'm lost .......What do you mean by couldn't........It was never on the "lay" list.........only Black Platinum from the Brown/Robinson stable was ........I don't lay 1st timers EVER........ so I have no idea what you are getting at?

The one where I would have likely got lucky was Mainspring in the last ..........................it drifted so quickly beyond my "value limit",it probably wouldn't have been matched,and I think I would have dodged a bullet.

If I was to open an account with Betfair when I am in Scotland [I had an account in SA with Betfair previously] and bet with my British Bank Account from Joburg, would I be adjudged to be breaking the law?

I believe that laying is by far the easiest way of making money, gambling in SA.-D

even us "visitors" to sa will not be able to access the site. So any account holder that sets foot in SA will be wothout betfair.

Rob if I was laying I'd be looking closer towards the top of the boards. All you need is to lay 1 winner at those odds and you're back to square one even after laying 8 losers! Now that, for me, would be extremely frustrating.

Sure there are these type of bookmakers out there, however the bigger firms play to beat the favourites and that's what makes them successful.

In saying this don't ask me which favourites I be laying today ()

Darryl,I kept 3 years of stats working many theories together and seperately but everybody who has never tried it is better at it than me..........lol.
If it was easy,every punter laying in the UK would be a millionaire...successful layers are about 5%,,,,,,,about the same as punting and I made a profit for the last 18 months with my method,so I will stick to it.
Completely different rules to pricing up an entire field!

Darryl, you will see that the pricing and staking plan is vital
Awesome Josh,which I was prepared to lay at 8/1,but no backers were prepared to offer less than 10.5/1.........those are the bullets you dodge by having a value threshold.

Rob I'm not questioning what works/worked for you.

On the flip side, say you made the favourite an even money chance, and come race time they were taking 5/10 would you lay it albeit it wasn't originally on your 'lay list' for the day?

2 cents,that is exactly what happens.as long as you have a value thresholds for each horse
ED I thought was a 5/10 shot so never became a lay ,but Acapella became a lay at 28/10.

I don't know if the 196 page 1 year laying thread is still up ,but is often referred to..........I got so fascinated I read it in one hit(20 hours)
She got given a staking plan by her dad who is/was a financial trader and neither he or she knew anything about horses,but did know how to read stats.She states that she failed at the "short prices system"......her successful system takes you through,in advance the,the plan that turned 3000 pounds into 100,000 in under 365 days..amazing.
An amazing read and defied logic in some ways but my results eventually were similar(not in money...lol .....just in strike rates)
