There's only 1 pound between their merit ratings, so the handicappers don't quite see it as being that much of a "fact."

Why is it a baffler? Dancewiththedevil is a fantastic mare in her own right. I'm not saying she will be Igugu, I am saying that it would be unwise to expect a one horse race especially if The Devil gets her right type of going. Trust me, the way she quickened to win the Summer Cup might have given Igugu a lot to think about, and that's a compliment to The Devil, not an insult to Igugu.(

Does anyone know what the weight allocations for the race will be? Is it a handicap or WFA?
Fancied DWTD strogly last year and she dissapointed, will be a quality field if the Top 5 stay in.

No, it isn't. It's a conditions race with non-cumulative penalties for winning a Gr 1 (2.5 kgs) or a Gr 2 (1 kg) in the 18 months before the issuing of the weights, which means the two big girls will meet at level weights. It's roughtly similar to the Met (where nowadays there's a once-off penalty for a Gr 1 win)

Thanks Magic, they should still be best in on their ratings. (tu)
