The Belgian has not had many rides on any non Sheik horses this season

Rode 1 for me and not even an appie could have ridden so badly. Did everything we said not to do. Thank goodness Mrs O was there listening to the instructions. Horse never the same again and ended up retired.

That's the problem, he a glamour boy imvho and sometimes might do things his way insteada riding to instructions..

I have seen him ride some brilliant races but the 1 for me was a shocker. Told to come wide into the straight as he did not like horses around him and he does not like the stick. Took him straight into the middle of a big field and then gave him a hiding to try get him through a gap which he just did not do.He would not be where he was if he was always like that. I think I just got a really bad day.

Belgian, of French origin (with a name like that), living in France. He wore French colours at our jockeys' International.

When he is hot he is very, very hot, but right now he doesn't seem to be riding with much confidence. He's an amazing horseman with incredible balance and when you get to know the guy he's a very nice, helpful person. He did all the translating for me, one year, at the Mauritius Jockey's International and was actually doing it to assist some of the up-and-coming younger jockeys like Mikael Barzalona, who went on to ride last year's Derby winner.

Wouldn't it be great for Soumillon and Bold Silvano to both get back on the comeback trail on World Cup night? If the horse did get his tongue over the bit last Saturday then the run can be ignored but the news from Dubai has been very scanty.
