for now start with this

www.timeform.com/free/
www.equibase.com/
www.drf.com
www.ebetusa.com

some of the tracks have their own "live " feed so you can start watching.

Meetings can last up to 4 months

Be wary of huge class droppers $40k down to a $12k race, they often short priced but have problems

Enjoy the 1F (yes 1 furlong) 2F (2 furlong) races

Follow

Rosemary Holmeister jnr
J Lepareux
R Dominguez
C Valasquez (cornelio)
julio Felix

and more to come

Aren't the 1 and 2 furlong races for Quarterhorses, not Thoroughbreds?

One question, will we have fixed odds or is this another move towards tote monopoly?

Might be a problem for the books to price up with the time zone?

magic,

correct those races are for q/horses and are over before you blink. They have races for $100k decided in under 20seconds

Q/horses of course are the lead horses in the USA for thourougbreds. They are the ones that the outriders use when accompanying the racehorses down to the start.

THE ONLY fixed odds in the USA is on Betfair, even UK bookmakers link their odds to the pools in the usa. If you can find a bookmaker to give you independent fixed odds then you will be a millionaire as huge arbing/trading positions will occur every night.

On smaller meetings the betting can swing hugely in the last 2 minutes

AND BEFORE anyone accuses phumelela or the USA totes of cheating YOU WILL MANY TIMES see a horse at evens when the gates open and 2 furlongs later it will be 1/5 (they show the odds under the horses during the race) THIS is because of simulcasting and the bets from "off course" only get dumped into the sysytem after the jump.

Thanks again easy, but sure the punters will hate these erratic tote dividends and from my side I always want to know the odds I am playing, if I want a lucky dip would play lotto.

scotia,

punters in the USA have been playing like this for years ( hence betfair's statement of intent) to make it fairer for the USA punter.

Having said that if you local bookmaker is getting the live betting as a link from the USA pools and he is offering 15/10 a horse that YOU know is going to be 1/5 during the race theN LUMP on.

I have skinned my local ladcrooks a few times like this (they still need to win) but their odds "move" in direct corrolation to the show odds at the time and they "only" really hot up closer to race time.

Every cloud....
