Thanks OR. I only asked as i really fancy a bit of FullQuest today. I would be rather nervous on the win, but i think it's still value at 22/10 for the place.

Very difficult card imo - and a lot will depend if something has been done about the draw bias down the straight (6 of the 9 races being run down the straight) - so hopefully the first 2 races can give an indication.

R3: Can't remember if Hurrican Velvet's dam was a sprinter (on Formgrids I don't think they have all her runs), so there could be some stamina doubt imo - Mer de Miesque is improving and holds Flute Enchantee (stamina doubts as well) - both MdM's runs over 1600 were poor, but they were in soft going - so imo she could be value here from a good draw
R4: Shallow field - Mcdreamy holds some of these and also has the most scope for improvement, but hasn't run for almost 2 months, so maybe King Scott can turn that form around
R5: Sea Passage won well last time and should be even better over the long Vaal straight; she is however held by her stable companion Royal Overture on their last meeting, so RO definite inclusion in the JP imo; First Dawn and Floating Feather (stable has not had a winner for ages) seems held but can place; quite a few of the others try the trip for the first time so the Gray coupling appeals as a possible banker in the P6 imo
R6: Checklist likes this trip and has an inside draw, so should go close again; Alibaba's Jewel and Jet Dot Com are probably at best over this trip, so both must be considered; would be stupid to ignore Striker on Umfutho and include Valiant Be (likes the trip as well) in larger perms - I think War Front has a tough task here
R7: Another open handicap - not much between Market Drift, Acrisius and Ahoy Captain, Coco Stripes has come down in the ratings and must rate a chance as well, while the inconsistent Empire Ruler could upset from an inside draw together with Lecture Tour
R8: Extremely competitve fillies handicap - betting all wrong imo - if the inside draw is still advantageous, Pine Shade and Agapanthus Nana must have as good a chance as the favorite Three Nations - load up
R9: Not an easy close; Skinny Jeans looks the right one, but he is better on softer ground imo; Tsitsikama Strike does not have his regular jock which count against him imo; Torman drawn onn the inside, so he could turn the tables on boht SJ and TS; for a roughie consider Let the River Run, stable in form, all 3 wins over 1000 and 1 from 1 over the Vaal 1000 and also drawn on the inside

watching both of flute enchantee's runs, the filly is improving very nicely since up in jhb, and has stayed on very well both of her runs, my feel is she will relish the extra 300m here and make her the one to beat....if Gray's first timer in the first is something special, maybe the treble onto flute and sea passage might be worth a ew nibble...40/1

You may well be right Bushy but the form in her last 2 runs has not worked out with Heyyouneverknow the only other horse to win but was also beaten in Kimberly before winning, nothing else has done anything to frank her form..even money is way way too short and you will get closer to 2/1 time of race ..so if you are going to have a bet then I would suggest you wait for the race..

sea passage holds 6 other runners in this race on that heyouneverknow formline by atleast 8 legnths...3 horses have never been close to this distance, and another 3 horses that have, have got no form to speak of what so ever....plus the two scratchings...really does not leave much to beat imo?
