Sorry all - Inside today, outside thursday. Was rushing on my way to track to work a string and wasnt too sharp.
Basically, the Vaal used to split into two groups, one on inside and one on outside, due to best going. So, when inside course, inside draw and when outside course, outside draw, as the rail is now down the middle. Maybe the rolling from the course manager will have helped. Also, it spreads more evenly in Winter, when grass is dormant.
The main reason is that the sprinklers are on the rails and spray inwards, thus resulting in both sprinklers overlapping whilst wetting the middle of the course, making it softer. Also, with everyone scrambling to the rails run, that section of the course has more wear and tear, more holes to fill and less growth of new grass, whilst the lesser used part remains thicker, with more cushion and "hold" for lack of a better term.

Regarding the draws, it looks to me like Computaform also does not take the 2 tracks into consideration when publishing the draw stats - as somebody on here likes to say 'mediocrity continues' (sorry pirates)

Didn't want to offend Magic but as he's no longer at WF... absolutely Frodo (tu) and I think you are being generous by referring to it as mediocrity, downright misleading I would say... do I now have to say sorry to Pirates too??? :

Lets get this straight,im taking it that high number draws have an advantage.
Are we saying Music Affair race 1,drawn 3 out of 16 has a hard task. Can anyone equat into rough lengths the bias.
