the late mt peter miller made the comment once that certain horses suited certain jockeys...in particular he used to mention that gunter was the right jock for this horse and schlecter was suited to that horse ..etc..etc
thought at the time it made no sense....because in kimberley in those days....if u weren't in the first 3 turning for home ...no matter what horse u were on..u had no chance

YES IT IS ALL ABOUT THE RIDE.....THE NO1 DELPECH JUMP BAD AND THEY ALL WENT THE CLIPPERS INTO A HEAD WIND FROM THE START.....FAANTJIE SAT QUIET AT THE BACK,BALANCED AND NOT STRESSED, AND AT THE 400M TO GO THEY STARTED COMING BACK AND HE MADE HIS MOVE.....BRILLIANT RIDE!!!!!!!WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPEN IF HE ALSO PRESSED TO LEAD THROUGHOUT LIKE THE "CHAMPION JOCKEYS",WOULD SHE HAVE WON LIKE SHE DID?I DOUBT IT.....GIVE RECOGNITION WHEN ITS DUE

more than the jock..the trainer has to be complimented for taking his chances....i heard during the week that this trainer had this horse that he really thought that could run..first i thought he was a complete lunatic to run the horse in this class..because if it is good as he says it is...then we could get the absolute lot even if he decided to raid pe with this horse..i didnt talk to anyone about it during the week euther...because they would think that i lost my marbles as well....but what i did do was put this horses name into a little diary and wait till it next ran in a minor centre...put the lights out at any price...geez what chance now....but this is a true rags to riches story of which only movies are made on...well done corrie lensley..u did what u had to do...just to contemplate nominating this horse in a gropup 2 as a maiden was brave enough...cant say we enjoyed the win at the time(although i didnt lose in the race...but my mates did...i took the swinger franny and genuine leather )but after a day ...i enjoyed your win when i saw the replay...its what dreams are made of...and it gives us little owners real hope..cant say it enough...WELL DONE

This filly would have beaten them even if the jock had gone up with the pace !
