Vaal Turf - Outside 26/04/2012

Race 1: Mesmerising Melody- Connections fancy First Base strongly, they back it last time out and have double claimed so far, 1 draw does not help. Dalalaat ran 8l and 3l behind Sea Shadow, Mesmerising Melody first time out ran 2l behind Dalalaat, should see more natural improvement, and should hold the former now.

Race 2: Gemmayze Street- When the combinations of the owners, trainer and jock team up, they always deliver, triple claim should say it all. Look at the likes of Jade Bay, same combinations. As for the raced runners, Night Embers seems to be the one, but tough race with the first timers, maybe place bet on the 7 is the way to go.

Race 3: Cradle Song- Princess Lily would be the right horse, having faced stronger than the others in this race, but the 1 draw rules out its chances for me. Kings Bounty drawn 2 aswell puts me off, along with no betting support in either of its runs. Cradle song holds Boujis by 3l, little outsider could be Queen of the Wild, drawn nice with the appie claiming 4, could run into quartets at a nice price.

Race 4: Chat Noir- Not much in it between this runner and Silva Snow, two horse race for me, boxed exacta could be the way to play here. Only danger would be Beijing Mist, but once again the draw throws it out for me.

Race 5: Aerofoil- Form has been franked by a few winners, winning by 5l out first time out, horse is under rated imo and expect more improvement in this second run. Only Danger is Commision Due, but on Time form over this C&D, they are equal, Aerofoil now 3.5 kgs lighter and won by 5l with ease, more improvement and I expect this to win well.

Race 6: Legal Action- Field race for me, slight preference for LA, good draw, run a cracker in the final 200m on its last run after a bad jump out the gates, was the fasted finishing horse in the race by a mile, extra distance today will suit.

Race 7: Varlet- Another field race, with V my fancy, when Wiid and Lerena team up you can always expect the horse to be right there. Very impressive run last time out, now down in class from those horses, and expect it to go close.

Race 8: Carribean Dream- Sounding repetative but field for me, CD drawn well, Lerena retaining the ride, form lines from all its runs have worked out well. But a generally tough race.

Race 9: Cyclone Michelle- Seems a no brainer to me, Vivid the only dangeras its 3kg better off, but CM drawn very well and V drawn inside, with a 3.25l beating, I cannot see this form being turned around.

BB: R5-7. VB: R6-10

Very nice summary Bushy. If you go back and check the run ons for the last few race meetings on this track you will note that by the later stages of the meeting the draws started evening out, especially over the longer distances. (14 and 1600m's)
