2 horses to take out the race.

Barry's horse ran big BUT BODEMEIESTER ran even bigger. Mike Smith might be a good jockey but he rode this horse like a doos and will never swing leg over it again. To try and win the Derby off fraction of 22 and change for the 1st quarter and 45 and change for the second quarter and to stupidly get hooked up in a speed duel with a sprinter showed stupidity. That horse will reverse form in the Preakness and Belmont.

Barry did say his horse was "lazy" worker and i think even with the blinkers nothing is going to make him run closer to the pace and that will be his undoing.

Easy,

I think he got shuffled back farther that he wanted to be after Union Rags got squeezed between two others coming out the gate. If he lies mid pack, he wins....plain and simple.

Bode ran big, no doubt about that!

Last year, no horses reported any trouble in a cleanly run race, which is very rare in the Derby, which is more like a rodeo than a horse race.

This year, even with the fast pace and the field stretched out, there were plenty of sob stories, us included.

Looking forward to the second leg of the Triple Crown back in just 2 weeks.

I think that one will boil down to WTDW and Dullahan, the third and fourth finishers, both of which encountered traffic troubles and both of which were closing in fast.

The winner was knocked for a loop after the race because of the intense heat and the runner-up surely must react from this incredible effort of setting the sizzling pace.

Our colt will be freshest, because he had 6 weeks between races, whereas the other horses ran back in 3 or 4 weeks.
