There was a whisper a while ago.
I took some 33/1 when betting open.
Just a small token bet . Just in case

Frodo,if you are registered with Hollywood,go to form guide and choose a race over the 1200m and a graph showing results over 630 races will come up.........have a look, but the overall "shape" shows an inside bias............not dramatic but is definitely there.

It has been of my experience that on these big days down the straight at Scottsville they win from anywhere. I have always thought the inside was better however I have burned my fingers to many times leaving out the wide horses.
I think this will be the case once again come Saturday!!

Tommy - I have to agree with with you .
I was on course when Lets Rock and Roll won on the outside.
Then there was a horse from the Howells yard ( cannot remember the name), but was owned by a fellow forumite Tiger Shark. Both these horses won in the standside.

Tommy,I agree that for this day,it appears the track gets extra attention(and probably water)...........I concur, that on this day particularly, the going has usually been fair........and maybe even leaning to outside

So tomorrow you should handicap horses and not draws. In the 2 year old races you should load up as I (and Greg$$$) don't trust form of 2 year olds
Here are a few selections I have for tomorrow:
Caribbean Coast in JNB is HUGE value at 7, 8/1.
Princess Victoria should win
The big sprint will throw up a resutl imo. I think Castlethorpe is good enough if sanity prevails.
The two year old races.....Filles....FIELD
The colts I like the Kotzen horse for an upset, also fancy Homers fella. The cape colt from Kannemeyer....not for me.
Happy punting!

Just did a quick check and at this meeting last year there seemed to be a definite advantage being drawn on the inside:
First four in every race down the straight:
Race 1: (13 runners)
Margaretha Lotti - 3
Awesome Beauty - 2 (at 66/1)
Felix the Cat - 6
Conna Mara Black :
- 4
Race 2: (11 runners)
Valmorne - 4
Mister Slam - 8
Starspangledbanner - 7 (8/10)
Wheels of FIre - 9
Race 5 (14 runners)
Princess Victoria - 1
Up Front - 4
Hidden Beauty - 13
She's a Stunner - 2
Race 6 (10 runners)
Delago Deluxe - 2
Tennesee Strategy - 1 (20/1)
Midnight Serenade- 3
Race 7 (15 runners)
Val de Ra - 3
Headstrong - 4
Covenant - 14
State Blue - 5
Race 8 (16 runners)
Shea Shea - 4
August Rush - 6 (28/1)
Polar Moon - 2 (33/1)
Winking Jack - 13
So what will be the case tomorrow?

This meeting has ,over the years ,had some huge upsets............normally every exotic is well worth catching.................and the biggest payouts have been caused by the races that looked straightforward.

Yip probably will be a few upsets along the way - those 2 yr old races can throw up anything (just need Valdivia to come unstuck and we already have nice payouts); Princess Victoria does look too good to me, but maybe Chocolicious can upset her. I think that Delago Deluxe could be the one to give What a WInter a run for his money, with Deliver the Power and The Shark good value for trifectas and quartets imo.
Best value of the day for me comes in race 9 where I make Happy Heart hard to beat (tu)

Something i just picked up Straight Set who beat a lot of the fillies in the AR is running in the medallion against the colts, why?
is it because the Spies stable has a first timer in the AR who they expect to do well or do they think that the colts race is "weaker" and they might have a better chance??
