Gerrit Schlechter won the Germiston November for Joey Ramsden with Taupo's Retreat the horse never ran a place again after that ..in fact finished last and second last in his next 5 runs before being retired..

I agree with you FH - If our going was so terrible then how do our horses stay sound enough to race here?

not about terrible going..its too much for a horse to do a full cape season then a jhb season before natal...whether going is good or bad..what does where big city life break down prove? ya rabiya also broke down in durban?? what does that have to do with cape horses going to jhb

Llistening to Mike de Kocks chat on the polytrack.......he stated that if you change surfaces(and I have to assume that is a generalisation) you have to change the training methods/programmes cos of the different pressures that affect the legs...........perhaps when raiding, there is not the time to "convert" to those changes?

justin i agree with you it is nothing about the place, it is about the program for the horse.

Oscar is spot on. A magnificent specimen he has stallion written all over him. Good luck in the breeding. Oscar we will have to buy one of his babies.

He is the mirror image of his sire more than ready who won only one grade 1 while placed in many graded races. Will make an excellent juvinile sire
