Thought the same thing myself. Garden Province could have still been the 1st leg of 2nd jackpot. Poor show programmers!!

On Interbet the July is currently trading +-33%. Come the off the margins will be squeezed by +-25% to 8%? If Jackson is 18/10 now I'm sure one may get 22/10 at the Off? If not then surely everything will drift widening the gap even further between Jackson and the 2nd fav. But hey, I got Jacko Baby at 9/2 (and Italy to lift the cup at 16/1).

What price would Igugu or the Apache have been in this field...that will be a pointer to the 'value' or lack of it being offered on certain horses...me thinks some of the older horses will be very competitive.

If I remember correctly the great Politician paid R6 a tote win when winning the July way back in '78.

@ Ballie
Actually the Dupla was a better bet in that u had to get 1st and 2nd in any order to be a winner.
Now with the Exacta it's 1st and 2nd to be in exact order.

Eish, those were the days...Dupla and years later the consolation dupla which I seem to think was a quarter of the dupla.
