in their last 100 runners the Brown/Robinson yard have had 10 horses start favorite and the results are as follows:-

4 winners
3 2nd places
1 3rd place
2 unplaced

this is hardly a record of a "shrewd stable racing for themselves"??

You don't miss a trick FC I will only help out in Durban but he will be based in Capetown and not travel for a few months....someone made the mistake of telling him that he will never make it back and that was all the motivation he needed...

That is good news Titch, no matter what anyone says, Andrew has the best hands I have ever seen on a Jockey anywhere in the World.

The statistics do not bear this out. In fact, the opposite is true, and that includes fillies.

Even in nature, flight animals would fade on endurance and not initial speed. The fact that these horses are the first horse beaten in a race isn't due to the proximity of an earlier run. A relatively fit horse could repeat the same time twice in a day, and often faster the second time.

you could be right jack but i think you have to treat each case separately..how hard was the race, was she cut in half, is the filly a big strapping horse or lightly framed and doesnt carry condition etc...she might have been especially prepared for the race on july day and a week later was over the top...we pay our money and take our chances

Pirates I think you spot on. Not an easy race on July day and probably just too much for her a week later.

@ titch, tell Andrew i said he cant win the title again...(but leave out the small bit abt me calling my bookie to back him to win next season:lol)Just joking mate.
