I have seen this happen on more than 1 occasion.............and what i have also seen time and time again is that watch the favourite also go missing from the PA now!!!
I sometimes think the bookies shorten the horse to establish a bigger deduction.........just my own conspiracy theory though

not to mention e/ws are reduced to first two (at least in the UK)... feel sorry for anyone backing Follow The Light at 33s.
Two consecutive jokes, SA Racing really must get a grip, not that they will of course
They are happy for us International Observers to report back home that they are just a joke seemingly making no effort to improve matters.
Like Urbane Knight e/w in the next... but be careful in case there are 5 late scratchings

no explanation and no investigation and we wonder why horse racing is declining in popularity.

I'm only going from snippets on the tv Keniza but they said because it only seemed to affect one horse on the outside (widest draw of all) and none of these others seemed to be affected that it had no affect on the result. Personally I think that is bolox cos anything can happen, either in running or mentally. BUT... I would also be fair and say that if I had backed the winner and it was made void, I would be livid.
