I agree with rob - price and form are not the same thing - but how one can relate that back to the sand track being 'bad', I have no idea - I still would like to see anyone that is complaining about the results on the sand being 'worse' (in terms of consistency) than other tracks, to provide the proof - until then I remain unconvinced.
At the risk of boring everyone, horses are not machines - and things do go wrong - on all surfaces in all provinces - throughout the world - even Camelot got beat :S

Frodo,my complaint with the Vaal Sand is that I believe that you could run 5 meetings with the same fields ,and without any change in horses form ,have a vastly different result in each race, caused only by the inconsistency of the surface...............add to that the natural inconsistency of horses and any predictability is dead.
If I go to a casino, weather will play no part,an event will take place every 2-3 minutes,I can choose my own 5 hour window that suits ,no inconsistent objections.............so why do I love racing...........cos I still want to believe the predictability of racing exists.......if that becomes a fallacy, racing will have lost one of its most long serving avid supporters ...........ME.
It is why I feel so strongly about the regulation............it should position itself to protect the one advantage racing has.

Point taken about the 'inconsistency of the surface', but then the answer should be to get the surface 'more consistent' - and not to do away with it - imo
Regarding casino's - not an expert, but imo one can't compare racing to casino's - yes we gamble at both, but isn't it a little bit like comparing rugby and cricket - both are played outdoors, but are vastly different games :S. But take the point that casino's are competing with racing for the 'gambling rand'
