Quite often race courses in England are a lot more fair than in South Africa. There are a lot of race courses with longer straights there, therefore I believe their first time starters are more likely to yield dividends over longer distances?
Here in SA you need to give the babies or first time starters a little schooling. IMO this would have helped the first timer today as he was rank as could be, green as grass and still almost ran 3rd......

True GB, they have a lot of decent horses with great pedigrees.....they should be competing a hell of a lot better.

True GB, they have a lot of decent horses with great pedigrees.....they should be competing a hell of a lot better.
