To me the point is simple Jeff Llloyd is not a citizen of this country He made a decision to leave and to become a CITIZEN ( and all that goes with it ) of AUSTRALIA. I have zero problem with him coming and riding but he should be part of the international team Let him ride on behalf of his country (Australia ). If heffernan can represent Ireland then let Jeff represent Australia, HK or even his country of birth England. For him to accept South African colours is a disgrace to everyone concerned and why isnt the Jockey Association speaking up on their (the local jockeys ) behalf.

yes but the point I was trying to make is He (Heffernan )is clearly not good enough to get Irish Colours. Jeff Llloyds form in both HK and Australia hardly entitles him to represent either of those countries but If Heffernam represents Ireland then I have no problem with Llloyd representing HK or Australia.

After 1 season in Queensland Jeff is fighting for the Premiership...
The Wild Card entry is for outstanding achievement
Jeff has that in abundance
4500 wins
11 national championships
7 wins in a day TWICE
1st jockey in SA over 300 wins
Every GR1 except for the July
Those achievements are OUTSTANDING and that is why SA jocks call him The GUV'NOR

My point was he (lloyd) is not a South African citizen and has become a fully fledged Australian Citizen therefore has zero rights to ride under a South Afrcan flag (tg he wont be getting South African colours ). Yes his figures (statistics) read well but that was years ago. Would you like M.J.Odendaal or other Sa Champions of the past representing SA. These internationals should be based on current form (the previous season ) of the jockeys winners ( top 4 or 5 etc ) and not used in a way that flouts their own rules. Jeff Llloyd was not born here and is welcome to represent any country they want (hk-Mauritius - Australia or even England but not SA No

yes he may well be respected for his loyalty but there are many jockeys are that are very loyal but I would not like to have my money on them either. Loyalty should never be confused with ability
