I think the filly we are all overlooking has to be Earth's Orbit, unfortunately she is badly drawn but was running on last time out over 1400m and was badly drawn in that race as well, 28/10 the 1st four imo is a great bet...
Give everything but up!

Gary Alexander was happy with Blueridge Mountain ahead of the Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas, but lamented the “terrible draw” of 17 she had received.
“She usually goes handy, so is going to have her work cut out from that draw,” he said. “It’s a pity as she is a very nice filly and the trip should be alright. But if they don’t go too fast maybe she can get over. “
Alexander admitted that Piere Strydom had said after her last start, when a narrow second to Festival Of Fire over the Turffontein 1400m, that she was “maybe just not quite strong enough for a mile yet.”
“But she’s a big filly and it’s a Grade 1 so we had to give her a chance. That last run was her first around the turn and she had to do it the hard way from the front. Being inexperienced, it would be better if she can get a bit of cover on Saturday.”
Her pedigree, being an Argentinean-bred by the stamina influence, Giant’s Causeway, suggests she should enjoy the step up in trip.
However, Alexander also admitted that being 5kg worse off with Festival Of Fire from that last run was “not in our favour and had to be a worry”, even if it was one of her “prep runs.”
He concluded, “She is a talented filly and has a definite place shout.”

Sounds like she should be put away for the KZN season??

Mike Robinson has been very happy with the preparations of his two fillies, Bois De Boulogne and Star Jet, ahead of the Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas on Saturday and is excited that racing will be back on the New Course as he reckoned the longer straight would suit both of them.
“They are both very talented,” said the resident trainer at Drakenstein Stud, which has its own private tracks.
Bois De Boulogne wound it up steadily down the straight before getting the better of two older fillies rated in the 90s last time out in a Graduation Plate over 1600m on the Old Course and it was easy to see why she would prefer the longer run in.
She is drawn well in four, which will change to three if the first reserve runner comes out, and will be ridden by MJ Byleveld.
“Now we just need luck on our side,” he said.
Star Jet is by Jet Master and will be ridden by Grant Behr. She has only won once, but is only a length or two behind other Guineas contenders Jet Aglow and Butterfly Girl from a 1400m run in October.
She has drawn widest of all in the 16 strong field, but Robinson isn’t too concerned.
“Sometimes it’s better to be drawn wide. We can drop her out and let her enjoy the long straight where she will have time to unwind.”
However, he said if he had to choose one it would be Bois De Boulogne due to her better draw.

Not so much a bad omen.....but an old timer..... thinking old school.....traditionally in olden times.... horses would progress by winning a maiden....then a novice....then a graduation....then be stepped into handicap company and if they were not above average to go through the divisions they would fail at handicap level......now days horses are lumped on the MR from a win after maiden company....land up 1 time winners competing in Gr1....one can always throw a 1 time winner MR 93-99 back in a novice or graduation plate and steal the stake
....but it is all about placing horses....and this is where the better horses from better trainers put that four timer myth to bed....

Muhti, you are correct BUT even with todays MR system it is very difficult for a horse to win four in a row. Check how many hat tricks are converted into four timers . My guess would be less than 10% .... and that makes for a poor betting proposition as they are usually short in the betting !

I'm not a real punter so what would I know.....but if you are talking about Rumya she is from good stock....the only thing to beat her is how she handles the 18 hour trip to Cape Town....but as our esteemed poster Pirates has pointed out she has travelled more than most in the field...
but a mark of a great horse is to win after travelling all over.....I would not punt her on the nose but float her with All is secret in the exotics....as I think that the grey filly will be flying from the wide draw....as she did in her last run.....:
