guess they were looking to get rid of him and found the opportunity? strange how 'bringing racing into disrepute' is such a convenience when wanting to silence someone. there is a post on this site somewhere where IJ listed his grievances and also in print, and consider with the Comp Comm, quite a few valid points there - which perhaps F Harry should read. All of this will now be swept under the carpet as the merger was passed...so sailing happily forth.

Like he is the only trainer that has not paid his bills ? I think not .

so he's out because of bad debts and not because of bringing racing into disrepute? or both?

If you ask me they are using the "bad debt" situation to get rid of a fly in the ointment.....

Kind of makes perfect sense doesn't it?

You can't stop the juggernaut that is Phumelela. If you do try and stop, derail or discredit them they find a way to get rid of you.

I guess the competition commission was merely the last straw so to speak.

This is in response to all the comments about me being "kicked out of the Vaal."

I asked Phumelela to give me the reason why they gave me notice to vacate the stables that I have occupied at the Vaal for the past twelve years. They told me they do not have to give a reason and have not done so.

My rent has been paid up to the last statement received from them.

In any event they have never threatened to evict trainers for rental in arrears but instead have given them letters stating they will not accept nominations from them if their rental account is over a certain amount in arrears. This is rather stupid of them because it could be legally challenged as the owner is the nominator of the horse and the trainer merely does it as agent on the owner's behalf.

If they had to evict all trainers in arrears there would be chaos as there would be a tremendous number of horses without shelter and the means to be trained.

Moreover, they know damned well how the opportunities to race, program and handicapping system has been skewed to the main advantage of a relatively few owners and the effect this has had on the majority of trainers who as a result are barely managing to survive.

In the absence of a confirmed reason to the contrary, I can only assume that the action taken against me is as a result of my actions in trying to redress a thoroughly irregular situation regarding the allocation of public money entrusted to Phumelela and exposing their betrayal of their pledge to uphold the ethos of our horseracing and the detrimental effects their actions have had on our racing.

I note that I have been spoken of in derogatory terms by certain contributors to this website. While not enjoying this, I take solace in the fact that when I contested elections against the then ruling National Party, I was also spoken of in derogatory terms and called among other things a poes, kafferboetie and communist.

I find it quite amusing that the people who did this, both inside and outside of racing, suddenly became born-again democrats who fell over themselves to suck up to and kiss the backsides of the people they were so recently before determined to deny political and legal rights to.

The lack of Nazis in Germany after WWII was as nothing compared to these hypocrites who election after election ignored the injustice and dishonesty of our policies and returned a disreputable cabal of politicians to power again and again.

It is truly amazing how "power" attracts hangers-on like filth attracts flies.

I will continue to oppose injustice and dishonesty.
