Well done Proteas........but must say, there were a couple of loose shots from the Paki batsmen, look like they were giving our slip-fielders a catching practise.

Not sure why we declared - pitch seems a real belter now - time is not an issue - why not build the lead to 550 + and give them no chance at all ?

Agreed Frodo why not bat to tea today still have more than 2 days to bowl the out. Why give them any chance. :S

The Aussies and the N Zealanders tried bull-headed aggression and failed. England were more clever but also failed. Now Pakistan are trying the ultra-cautious approach against the Protea bowlers. I wonder if that'll work? Slowly, slowly, catchee monkee ...

I am left contemplating 2 questions after the demolition of Pakistan
1. Where was the much vaunted bad weather and thunderstorms forecast for the entire period of the test.
2. Are the Pakistan team now purely competitive as a one day side and are incapable of buckling down to 5 consecutive days of cricket
I know where my money will be for the New lands test. Might be lucky to get 4 / 10

Maybe CSA or the coach have finally got hold of the groundsman and said that when in SA prepare pitches to suit our players. The past couple of years, most of the pitches suited the opposition teams. Prepare a green mamba for our team. Do you think that when we tour India/ Bangladesh/Pakistan etc they are going to prepare a pitch that suits us? Not on your life in most cases it will look and play like a dust bowl that takes spin from the 1st day. We have a great team and the best fast bowling unit in the world. Let the opposition duck and dive!
