Unrealistic results, at greville and cape

Had some friends over today, and we discussed a lot of issues ranging from Oscar to Zuma, with Kunene in between, etc

The topic then shifted to horse racing, and one of my guests(not a regular punter), but someone who takes a bet twice a year on the July and Met, asked a question.....What makes racing so appealing, to millions of people who should rather be using their money to improve their lifestyles.

My response to her was... This is the cleanest, most transparent, and legal way of taking money legally, from someone who can least afford to spend that money, hoping he/she can increase their income, but in the process, becoming even poorer.

As long as you put your money down and hoping to get a return, make damn sure you have a good financial advisor, that will take into account all the factors that influence your return on investment.

Racing is no different to Lotto /Powerball....entice the gullible to bet into a pool that could make them instant winners (MILLIONS ARE WON EVERYDAY, as the slogan goes), and human nature kicks in.

Only problem is, dear stupid punter, the millions are not for you

Racing is about power and influence, determining the outcome, about egos, so big, about prestige, and the false perception that material wealth is power.

This country is sick, and it needs to be fixed, before we self destructing and implode.

Start with some introspection, about what each of us as individuals have done to make this a better country, instead of taking, from the less fortunate.

Amazing that so many people live life, without considering, the after life. All that seems to matter is the here and now.

Apologies for going of on a tangent , but when I look at these kind of racing results, it is totally mind boggling.

I used the word "OCHERSTRATED", in a previous post, and I got lambasted from all angles.

Objective views???
