All speculation, these guys have more money than time, don't stress they going no where but up. If you have money it's all about perception by others, buy now on the low and make a bundleX(, it's all about the gamble :)-D

I am not a business person, however there is a business saying, along these lines, "too big to fail", think 2008 when AIG, General Motors and a few other iconic American companies failed or declared bunkcruptcy, they were bailed out. The South African economy can never compete along those lines, however if this story is true, hopefully a foreign entity/investor/s will come to Steinhoff's rescue. I am open to correction on this, but Steinhoff are the 2nd or 3rd largest manufacturer in their field (told this today). The ramifications of Steinhoff failing are quite stagering. If this is true, the workers are always the last to find out the stark reality of what is going on within a company. Without wanting to offend anyone, horse racing will certainly not be the biggest loser, people's livelihoods are at stake here. This is my very humble opinion.

Sorry, i did not see your last post, was busy trying to think what to write in the 3 minute delay between yours and mine. If Mr. Jooste does fall on hard times and has a dispersal sale, there will be no shortage of buyers of his stock, ABC would most probably form (another) a syndicate and acquire one or two.

There is a movie/documentary called The Inside Job, narrated by Matt Damon, do yourselves a favour, try watch it. It's amazing how, worldwide, very few people saw the 2008 crash/recession creep up on global economies, world economies still haven't recovered from this. That was caused by a handful of people, believe it ot not.
