Yes.
Would have been double that payout if the objection was overruled.

Bernard (and most all SA jocks) will never learn.
They should watch Meydan more closely or racing in ANY OTHER JURISDICTION.........

You Cannot get caught on the rail, especially in bigger fields on a tight track. You can run wide, and still win, again Ambassador Rex was a perfect example......

Why, oh why do they insist on getting stuck on that inside rail. Bernard did it twice today, once on Cognac on ice and one on Variety Star.

Come on guys, the rail in most places around the world is NOT the place to be yet you insist on trying to bag the rail so that you can either barge your way out and get lucky or get even more lucky and do a Calvin Borel down the inside of the track.

SA jocks have a looooonnnnggggg way to go even though they are decent horseman and have great balance.

That's about where it ends imvho................

He had a perfect run up the rails and when Aldo came across him badly and he had to check and that was his race over....not his fault at all.....Domeyer should get a holiday for that careless ride.VS lost close to 2 lengths having to switch and got beaten a neck......I assure u that Bernard would not have objected if he had felt it was uncalled for and the correct decision was m by the stipes

I'm not doubting the outcome, what I'm asking is why get yourself into that trouble in the first place. there is a perception amongst jocks in SA that you HAVE to be on the rail in order to win a race......

Are you kidding me???? The best place, in most instances is NOT on the rail but perhaps one back one deep......
(Hey I must remember that....a catchy porn movie title :D )

If he wasn't down on the rail boxed behind horses he would never have had an issue....Cognac was an even worse example.....He was scuppered in behind horses, went for a rails run that was NEVER there and then never even as much as raised a sweat behind horses. He was relying on the horse in front either stopping or switching off the rail so that he could get a run, that on a course that runs quickly and allows front runners to stay there.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

I'm a fan of Bernard and SA jocks in general, but if you go back in history and add up the amount of times a jock found a split up the inside and came storming through compared with the amount of times a jock got squeezed, interfered with, dropped out or switched.....I think my hypotheses wins comfortably.

Whats even worse in my mind is a horse that should have at least attained a place on form, looks and the way it traveled in the race was afforded no chance because of the way it was ridden (not the first instance of that happening I know) but still a shame for punters, owner, trainer and the jock himself.

Perhaps the jocks should try to be creative and use a little more of the HUGE real estate out there available to them and not try crowd down two lanes on the inside.......

Once again Aldo on Ambassador Rex is a perfect example.....How did that horse win running 4 wide, being squeezed out on the top turn, going forward, being used up and still wins as he likes.........

Nuff said!
