I agree (probably going to snow today
) - I know Cherry's family (half-sister?) has placed in the KZN Oaks, but that's not exactly proving stamina imo - and being by Tiger Ridge I think the 1800 will be the upper limit in terms of distance for her.
I also very much doubt if Tellina can do the double in the Classic - must have a chance of course, but for me too many 3yr olds colts have been beating each other to be confident on one of them.

I think she has the most improvement to come and is drawn in pole poistion - ran a very good race in the F Guineas from a poor draw - I think she will be even beter this trip and it also doesn't hurt that the stable (and jock) very nearly had 3 winners yesterday (tu)

My six pence, or R6, worth for the Classic:
1. Significantly favourable weight advantages:
a. None
2. Recently easy and impressive
a. Tellina; and
b. Bay Of Bengal
3. Very classy:
a. None
4. One more chance to remain in the notebook:
a. Francois Bernhardus; and
b. Fantastic Mr Fox
5. Undefeated in last two:
a. Tellina; and
b. Bay Of Bengal
6. Some class:
a. Francois Bernhardus - winner of the Graham Beck
b. Tellina - winner of the Joburg Guineas
c. Lovestruck - winner of the Politician
d. Killua Castle - half a length off in the Joburg Guineas
e. War Horse - half a length off in the Joburg Guineas
f. Gitiano - a length behind in the Joburg Guineas
g. No Worries - a length behind in the Joburg Guineas
h. Fantastic Mr Fox - winner of the Tony Ruffel
i. Gray's Champ - One and a quarter behind in the Sea Cottage
j. Swift And Strong - three quarters behind in the Tony Ruffel
k. Alexandra Palace - winner of the Sea Cottage
l. American Storm - a short head behind in the Sea Cottage
m. Bay Of Bengal - winner of the Egoli Mile
7. With In form/hot Jockeys:
a. Tellina - Fradd;
b. Gitiano - Marcus; and
c. No Worries - Strydom
8. With In form/hot Trainers:
a. Tellina - Woodruff;
b. Killua Castle - Woodruff;
c. Gitiano - Laird A;
d. No Worries - van Zyl;
e. Gray's Champ - van Zyl;
f. Sabadell - Woodruff;
g. Emerald Approach - de Kock;
h. Bay Of Bengal - Azzie;
i. Safe House - Azzie;
j. Rock Cocktail - de Kock; and
k. Tequila Sunrise - de Kock
9. Beat a subsequent winner from one of last two wins:
a. Francois Bernhardus - penultimate start downed Nice Stride
b. Lovestruck - penultimate win downed Wind Trip
c. Gitiano - last win downed Fantastic Mr Fox
d. Alexandra Palace - penultimate win (maiden) downed Cufflinks
e. Tequila Sunrise - last start downed Balse
10. No decent recent form:
a. Sabadell; and
b. Emerald Approach
11. Questions and comments:
a. Francois Bernhardus - a sprinter?

c. Is the form of the Joburg Guineas suspect?
d. In the Politician only the last , the 2nd last and the 3rd last finishers from 14 runners have subsequently won

so what you say mac is take field and banker cherry in the fillies race?
i think the guineas form is suspect. by that i mean there is no horse that we can relie upon as they all run close. i must say i like the way war horse ran and he is my choose for the race
