Started this yesterday and did the first 4 races. But, following copious (and more) amounts of vodka last night, I realised in attempting Race 5 this morning that it really just wasn't going to happen today! :( so the final three races are selections only lol

R1 One of those races where I think they are all likely to be well beaten! Even with PS up and a good draw, The Sanquharian seems very short to me. Unplaced in 3 distance attempts and the only time in his last 6 outings he has run out of the top 4 was over 1200. Was also well beaten on his only sand effort, again over 1200, albeit when poorly drawn on debut. The fact he is seemingly stable elect puts something of a downer on Sixmilebridge's chance, he is 3/6 for top 3 places on the sand and runs from an ok draw but a 16 week break is an obvious worry. Passion Pleaser is not for me... has one third in 4 course attempts and 3 thirds from 7 distance runs, runs from the worst draw and has over 4 lengths to find on Auriferous when well beaten behind Mboweni over 1000. Auriferous, ok draw, but one 3rd in 6 course efforts and one third in 3 distance efforts hardly inspires confidence. Potential idiots... I was on Bushvelds Pride at 100/1 when he improved last time on the turf from a good draw but he is drawn badly today. Opening Salvo has a decent draw and beat some of these over 1450 when well behind Roaming in Rome, I'll be hoping for a market drift and then I might invest a little. Very small stakes and for value will be chancing... Opening Salvo x Sixmilebridge x Auriferous

R2 A few sand first timers but I'm sticking to those with course experience. Badger's Quest has PS up again and has 3 seconds from 6 course runs. But, he has only one silver in 5 distance runs and the poor draw puts me against him. Beza, was beaten 7 lengths behind Roaming in Rome on his sand debut but was noted making late progress after stumbling. Drawn well again, this one could represent fair e/w value. As an idiot I'll have a nibble at Hobb's Flight. Finished just behind Beza last time but had the worst draw and now is much better drawn and the in form Gunter W retains the ride. No great course or distance record but has run creditably with decent draws in the past. Maybe Baby is another with no great record but for top 3 finishes he is 7/15 on course, 3/12 at the distance which improves to 3/8 on c and d. At 50s and 7s a top four finish is worth considering a small investment from the 1 box, not exactly consistent, poor lately and an out of form trainer - a few prayers may be in order! 844 is one that might improve on his previous sand efforts now upped in trip, but 2nd run after a rest and the draw could be better. Will watch this time but a market move would ignite a little interest. Hopeful selection for a big pay day... Beza x Hobb's Flight x Maybe Baby

R3 Innonthesquare again looks the most likely but once more I won't touch at the price. Zahara's Own was making late progress when over 6 lengths behind IOTS over 1450 (Scarletto race) and its hard to see that form being overturned. Nothing says to me Danielle will necessarily perform well on the sand but equally, she could do so. Festive Interlude's best run was from fresh over this c and d but has done little else worthy of note. Blinkers are on but have been tried before seemingly to no great effect. Tizasmartdollar may improve 3rd run after the rest and has a much better draw than on her sand debut but no guarantees, if she drifts then I may nibble. Another selection based more on hope... Tizasmartdollar x Innonthesquare x Zahara's Own

R4 I think it is very hard to oppose La Volta though, up against the boys, she may not have it all her own way. Interesting runner for me is de Kock's Second Tycoon and being by Captain Al could take a real liking to the surface. Coming off a year long break though, is probably best monitored this time out. One that might run well with a lot of weight taken off is Prime Mover, 3 silvers from 3 c and d attempts. I'll pass Furious Dancer on the assumption he will need the run after 20 weeks off, Across The Ice must have a chance but at the distance I think one or two others will be too good for him, Commissioner Street might be worth an e/w nibble at the prices. Selection... La Volta x Prime Mover x Across The Ice

R5 No doubt Prolan's maiden win was impressive easing down but not a lot has come out of that race. She could be anything. She also ran well on debut so it may be that she performs well fresh. If she is no superstar then there are plenty in with chances, but I'll just mention my top three... Variety has run well on her two course visits and both stable and jockey are in red-hot form, Cante Libre has 3 wins and 2 runner-up slots from 8 course visits and is 1-2-0 for c and d, and as a semi-idiot, I think Boujis might be worth a small e/w. Two course visits to date and only beaten 2 and 3 lengths, trainer form could be better but the useful appie AA takes weight off and this will be 3rd run after a rest. Tentative selection... Prolan x Variety x Cante Libre

R6 Right Beauty x Uncle Tommy x Callanish
R7 Raise The Bar x Formation x Magic Smoke
R8 Henry Higgins x Kudos x McAllistor

Be(s)t of luck to all (tu)

Englander I fancy a few of the same outsiders you do.

In Race 3,Tizasmartdollar was slow and coughing on only Sand run I could see good improvement from her and if Inn On The Square fluffs her lines she could be a big runner.

In Race 4, I really like Prime Mover to give La Volta a run for her money. He seems to be running better over the 1000 meter trip and with the 4kg's off his back could be flying at the finish.

In Race 7, my outside fancy is Motown, he is up in class and under a little sufference but I could see him with only 52kg's on his back. He was also reported coughing last time out and from a very wide draw that run is best ignored.

These 3 will form my EW patient for today.

I also feel Henry Higgins will be very difficult to oppose and will be my banker in everything.

My PA for today is for R960 will play a %:
Leg 1: 1,4,5,6
Leg 2: 2,6
Leg 3: 2,9
Leg 4: 1,2,3,7,9
Leg 5: 2,4,7,11
Leg 6: 2,3,4
Leg 7: 18

Play Well. (tu)

I am also a big fan of Henry H.

La Volta looks the best bet on the card today.

Magic Smoke, Canta Libre and Uncle Tommy are even money for places on HW at the moment and look like value for places

Hve fun all. PA will follow for those screwed enough to look at it
