......That Curry Tavern was epic.....we used to swap our Owner/Trainer meal tickets for carvery lunch with okes that prepaid at the Tavern just to get at the Beef CUrry.....

We don't do the Ruby Murray's at the hangover only the chicken flatties with the hot porra sauce

Had many meals there. Was owned by the Van Rensburg family. Elma ( the dad) and sons Mike and Gary were the the legendry Big punters that used to raid the Natal racecourses on many occasions.....
....They were like the pied piper with many followers hanging on to see what they were going to punt.
The curry tavern was near the Chinese Restaurant owned by Johnny Ho who was a bookmaker.
Titch wasnt Tony Dumas (?) one of the owners of the turf guide that took over Duff's turf guide, and as Mikesack says brought out that wonderful colour edition.

That was him...and Selwyn Elk who now has a tote outlet in Durban
